Product Description

IEC 60335-1 Clause 8 Non - Inductive Resister 2k Ω For Current Leakage

Product Information:

This 2 000 Ω ± 10 % non-inductive resistor (category: wire-wound resistors) meets the requirements of IEC 60335-1 clause 8, IEC 60950-1:2013 clause 2.4.2 and etc. Used to test the leakage current between primary and secondary.

An electrical energy source class is determined from both voltage and the current under normal operating conditions, abnormal operating conditions, and single fault conditions (see Table 4).

The values are the maximum that can be delivered by the source.

Test Procedures and Operation

Please refer to the relevant standards.

Take IEC 60335-1 clause 8 as an example:

Voltages and currents are measured between the relevant parts and each pole of the supply source. Discharges are measured immediately after the interruption of the supply. The quantity of electricity in the discharge is measured using a resistor having a nominal non-inductive resistance of 2000 Ω.

NOTE 1 Details of a suitable circuit for measuring the current are given in figure 4 of IEC 60990.

NOTE 2 The quantity of electricity is calculated from the sum of all areas recorded on the voltage/time graph without taking voltage polarity into account.
