This impulse voltage test generator is required by IEC60335-1:2004, IEC60950-1:2005,IEC60065:2005,GB4706.1and etc.
The equipment is used to verify transient overvoltages to which household and similar appliances, information technology equipment, and audio and video electronic equipment may be subjected.
This impulse voltage test generator is a standard lightning wave test device with waveform 1.2/50µs. Wavefront time is 1.2µs, wave after time is 50µs, it is a destructive tester. The sample breakdown will produce a spark and acoustic, instrument peak voltage than the no-load voltage is decreased substantially (close to zero), when applying the same voltage in the next test, it will also show the above phenomenon.

The test principle:
 
The impulse voltage tester is a standard lightning wave test device with a waveform of 1.2/50s(10/700s is optional). The wave front time of the instrument is 1.2s(10s) and the wave back time is 50s(700s). The impulse voltage tester is a kind of destructive test. In the test, if the sample cannot withstand the applied voltage, the breakdown will occur. Spark and discharge sound will be generated when the sample is broken down, and the peak voltage of the instrument will drop significantly (close to zero) compared with the no-load time. The above phenomenon will occur when the same voltage is applied to test again later

 

 
Sample connection:
 
As shown in the picture below, connect the red and black wires of the junction box to the equipment respectively, and connect the positive and negative poles of the sample to the terminals of the junction box.
